We Are
Here To Support You!
Message from the CEO
BHI offer online support in the form of online meetings and phone support groups.
PLEASE NOTE
Although these resources can provide valuable support, please do not consider information on these sites to be completly factual without checking with your psychiatrist/mental health counselor .
Mental illnesses and their symptoms can make you feel isolated. Although friends and family members care about you, they may not understand what you're going through. Some of them may be more critical than supportive. That's one reason to think about joining a support group for people who have the disorder. It feels better to meet people who are in your position -- living with the same symptoms, frustrations, and worries. They might also have good suggestions for living with mental health disorders, such as ways to manage symptoms or talk to others about the condition.
Our support group members provide emotional support to one another as they share a common understanding of what it's like to live with bipolar disorder. They may also talk about their treatment, including what's helped and what hasn't. They might discuss medications, therapy, and self-help strategies.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, many local support groups have moved online. For information about these locally based online support groups, see https://bhiogstl.org/support groups. The support groups that we host are as follows:
